Yom Kippur 😭

This weekend is "Yom Kippur" or "Day of Atonement" as described in the Bible,

"For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD" -Leviticus 16:30 chabad . org describes the Judaic observance of Yom Kippur like this: "When: The 10th day of Tishrei (in 2024, from several minutes before sunset on Friday, October 11, until after nightfall on Shabbat, October 12), coming on the heels of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year, which is on the first and second days of Tishrei). How: For nearly 26 hours we “afflict our souls”: we abstain from food and drink, do not wash or apply lotions or creams, do not wear leather footwear, and abstain from marital relations. Instead, we spend the day in synagogue, praying for forgiveness." I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to this Festival of our God, The Most High God, YHWH, Our Heavenly Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, The Birth Father of our Savior Yeshua King Jesus, whose blood atones for the sins of the world. Why would I be looking forward to this Judaic Festival of God, if I am a follower of Christ, and my sins have been atoned for? So that I do not take his sacrifice for granted, which has been the root cause of too many unnecessary back sliding sins against him. God Forbid I repeat them ever again. REPENT! For the Kingdom of God is near!

"For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation,
not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death"
-2Corinthians 7:10
